October 3rd About 8pm
Ian sat on the couch of his apartment. He was bored as hell and couldn’t think of how to decorate the place for his annual Halloween bash. He decided he was going as the phantom of the opera. It was an easy and sexy costume. It would catch some attention, but not to much. He leaned back on the couch and sat his beer on the table next to him. His cigarette hung loosely between his lips as he fished in his pocket for his lighter. His fingers wrapped around it and he pulled it out of his pocket quickly. After lighting his cigarette, he adjusted himself on the couch to make himself more comfortable.
It was quite easy to tell that Ian hasn’t left the place all day. He was wearing a pair of grey sweats… and that was it. His ash tray was filled with cigarette butts and there was five empty beer glasses on the table. He wasn’t himself, that was for sure. He wasn’t getting along well with the ladies lately and that was putting him down. He always had a girl, but lately, they all seemed to be seeing right threw his smooth talking and gorgeous face. It was driving him insane!
He propped his feet up on the table and sighed heavily. He took a long drag from his cigarette and flipped on the tv. As usual there was nothing on. He really needed something to do. Something that would take his mind off the up coming party and his bad streak with the ladies. That something just so happened to knock on his door.

It was the middle of the week and Dan was already bored. He should actually be working on his paper for his Medieval class, but he just couldn't concentrate. It wasn't due until Monday. There was still plenty of time left for him to do that. So, after staring at a blank document with a blinking cursor for about ten minutes, he decided to give up. It was only eight o'clock. Too early to go to bed or to even go out. He had to do something or else he would go insane out of boredom. His roommate wasn't home. He was probably out at the library studying, being a good student and all that.
Dan left his desk and pulled on a Hastings U. hoodie and headed out of the apartment. There was only one place to go when he was this bored. He was going to see Ian. He had to know if there was anything going on tonight. The weekends usually don't start until Thursday night. But, there might be a few people doing something tonight. The person to know that would be Ian.
He climbed up a flight of stairs to reach to Ian's apartment and knocked on the door. Knowing Ian, he was probably sleeping right now, preparing himself for later tonight. Dan didn't know how Ian lasted this long as a Bio major, but he must learn the secret because Dan was on academic probation and at a risk of being kicked out. However, that didn't defer his desire to do something other than writing his paper tonight. "Dude, are you up," he said, knocking a bit harder on the door.

Ian quickly shot up off of the couch and skid to a hault in front of the door. He threw it open and grinned widely. "Man, you just saved my life." He ushered Dan into the living room and sat back down on the couch. He looked up at Dan and sighed. "Please tell me you have something to do tonight." His cigarette hung loosely between his lips again as he rubbed the back of his neck softly. He grabbed the cigarette and licked his lips as he thought.
He really needed to get out of his apartment. He was aceing all of his classes, which was strange for him and he hasn't been laid in what felt like forever. The poor guy was getting lonely... and smarter. Neither of which he much enjoyed. He threw an unopened beer at Dan and shrugged. He wondered if Dan had had any lucky with both the ladies and the classes. Ian knew that he was on academic probation and at risk of being kicked out. Dan was one of Ian's close friends and he would hate college life for sure if Dan were to be kicked out.

Dan looked around the apartment as he was shown the way in. It's not like he needed to. He had been here so often, that it was almost as if he lived here. He sometimes wondered why they just don't share an apartment instead of Dan sharing the apartment downstairs with someone else. "No, I came over, hoping you had something to do tonight," he said to Ian.
Catching the beer with one hand he waited for the foam to die down before opening it. No need to open the can and have it spray all of him before they went out tonight. "I'm so bored," he explained. "I have a paper to write, but I just couldn't focus. I thought maybe if we just went out and did something, I'll be able to focus better later." Sure, it was a bad excuse to go out, but if it would help him in the end, then he was more than willing to try. He was getting antsy, and the only way to stop it was to do something and get it all out. It had been a while since he had talked to a girl, unless you counted Evangeline.
The Junior thought about calling her up, but decided against it in the end. Why would he invite a girl that he actually liked to go out with him tonight so that he could get pissed drunk? No way was that happening. He would probably scare her off faster that way, and that was actually the opposite of what he wanted to do.
"There has to be something going on tonight," he said, finally opening the beer and taking a drink from it.

Ian raised one of his eyebrows and sighed. "You have got to be kidding me." If Dan didn't know what to do tonight, and Ian didn't know, then it was likely that there was nothing to do. He chewed on his bottom lip and took a few more puffs of his cigarette before putting it out in the already filled ash tray. He leaned back on the couch and took a drink of his beer slowly. The bar? Yes, that was an idea....
He looked up at Dan and cocked his head. "Dude, you really need to get that paper done." He said quickly. Ian did know how Dan felt though. He hated having to write a paper and have absolutely no focus to pull it together. It happened to him quite often and it drove him crazy. He didn't exactly know what to do to get Dan's focus back, but it had to do with lots of drinking and girls. That would definitely lighten his spirits.
He stood up and streched, yawning loudly. "Man, if there isn't anything that we know about, we'll just have to go and find it, yeah? I'm going to go change." Ian walked to his room, still yawning occationally as he shifted threw his shirts and jeans. He pulled on a pair of loose fitting faded jeans and a white t-shirt. He slipped on a light blue botton up polo and grabbed his black cons. He jumped down the hallway as he pulled on his cons. A soft chuckle left his lips as he grabbed his beer and took a swig. He smirked softly, "You ready? I think my porsche is parked right out front... If I remember correctly."

Dan let out a fustrated groan as he sank lower into the seat and covered his face with his beer-free hand. They had to do something. He would seriously go crazy if all they ended up doing tonight was sit in Ian's apartment, trying to figure out what to do tonight. That's not how this was suppose to happen. He was suppose to come over with Ian coming out of his early night nap, ready to go to some kind of party. Then, Ian told him that he should do this paper.
"I got time," he said, waving his hand as if he was trying to get rid of the idea. Technically, he did have enough time since it wasn't due until Monday. However, if he was a good student, he would do it now so that he didn't have to worry about it all weekend. But, it didn't matter. Maybe if he did something tonight, he might have a better chance in concentrating tomorrow night.
Finally, Ian made a move to finally do something proactive. "Yes, that's the best idea I've heard all night," he said, taking a big gulp of his beer. "I'm sure if we just walk around frat row or something, we'll find a place." The row of bars were down the street of the row of fraternity houses. Dan was the type of guy that didn't care how he dressed. However, that could explain why Ian had better luck with the girls than Dan did. Then, Ian finally showed up and Dan quickly finished off his beer. "Let's go," he said, putting the empty can on the table and headed to the door.

Ian smirked casually as he ran his fingers threw his sandy hair. He took another drink of his beer before quickly setting it down on the table and snatching up his keys. He fallowed Dan out the door and down the stairs. He beeped his shiny black porsche and grinned. His car was his baby. Sadly he often forgot where he parked it when he would get wasted. That's why he was glad that he had his little beeper. The lights would flash dully so he would know exactly where it is.
He leaned against his car casually and looked at Dan, "So, where do you want to head first? I'm thinking frat row, yeah? Then maybe a bar. I hope you brought your fake id." He swung the door open and sat in the drivers seat. He hadn't drank enough to effect him, thankfully. If he had drank to much he would have made Dan drive. Which is probably what was going to have to happen tonight. One of them had to be the designated. Then again, Dan did need to get his mind off of things, so Ian wouldn't mind letting Dan let loose. He could always drink at his house later.
He turned on his car, loving the soft pur of the engine. The stereo started quietly and then began to slowly get louder. He loved it. He flipped the stations a few times before hitting the mute. "Why don't you find a station. My mind is blank at the moment." He sighed heavily before throwing his ciggs on the dashboard. Definitely didn't want to break those, that's for sure.

They might as well go to a frat party and hope that they would be able to get in for some free beer. But, if worst comes to worst, they would go into the bar and pay for their own beer. "Dude, of course I did," he said. Dan would never go over Ian's place without the ID. He didn't like to bring it out too often because he was sure that one of these days he might get caught. However, special occasion required him to come out to the bars. Tonight was one of those special occasion.
He climbed into the car on the passenger side. "Are you sure you can drive," he asked Ian. Dan was all about fun, but he didn't want to die in the process of it. Then, he went to play around with the radio, trying to find something. He settled on an old Smashing Pumpkin song. How can you go wrong with that? "Dude, I need to get wasted tonight," he said to Ian. "Then, I'm going to find a girl to get my mind off of this English girl."
Dan hadn't told anyone about Evangeline yet. He actually wasn't sure if there was anything to be told. They played some basketball and exchanged number. That's all they did. It wasn't as if there was anything else worth telling. Dan didn't ask for a date or even kissed her, though he wished he did. She was totally out of his league, and he knew it. That's why he needed to go and find some other girl to help him forget her.

Ian chuckled softly, "I'm glad, Man, because I'm not sure if there are any parties on Frat Row tonight." He pulled out of his parking space and headed toward the street. Normally Dan always had his ID with him when he was out with Ian. But Ian always made his best effort to make sure Dan didn't have to use it. Not only would he get into trouble, but Ian would to, and he couldn't handle that right now.
He sped down the street easily in his porsche. His head turned toward Dan with his eyes brows raised. "Yeah, of course I can drive. I'm not even a little buzzed..." He sighed at the fact that he wasn't even a little tipsy. Damn, something was seriously not right with him. He bit his lip agravatedly and sped down the street a little faster. The music just went in one ear and out the other.
Ian nodded his head, "Alright, I'll drive home then." He turned down frat row and slowed only a little. He was still doing about fifty, as usual. As soon as Dan mention and English girl, he slammed on the breaks, nearly sending them both into the dash board. He turned toward Dan a look of astonishment upon his gorgeous face. "There's a girl involved with this? Why didn't you tell me sooner? The alcohol is on me, Dude." If Dan could get drunk and find a girl, Ian had to get laid. That's just how it worked. He hit the gas and continued down the street. He glanced out the window, attempting to find any signs of a party. There had to be something, there had to be.

Dan ran his hand through his hair a couple of times before styling his bangs to cover his forehead, causing a few strands to get into his eyes. He was actually almost done when Ian hit the breaks so hard, he had to put his hands on the dashboard so that he wouldn't go flying through the windshield. The seatbelt was buckled in, but that could only do so much. "What the hell, man," Dan said angrily. He would have to fix his hair again. When his friend looked astonished, his anger slowly faded, but he didn't forget that he saw his life flash before his eyes.
"Yeah, well, it sort of just happened last week," he said, sitting back in his seat. "I don't know, I guess I was trying to figure out what it meant before telling anyone." That wasn't really the truth. He just didn't want to let anyone else in on it. Dan was a carefree type of guy, but there are a few certain things he liked to keep to himself. He really liked this girl and wanted to keep that to himself for some reason. It wasn't that he didn't think that Ian wasn't a good friend or anything like that. He just liked something to have his own from time to time.
Dan looked out of the window, going back to messing with his hair. "Well, let's hope you could afford it, because I'm going to be drinking a lot," he said, smirking, and turning to look at Ian. When he finally got his hair done the way he wanted it, he took out his cellphone and started texting people he knew to see if there was some kind of party that was going on.
