{Things Are Shaping Up To Be Pretty Odd}[/color] So it was his name. Well, duh. That was what he'd said, right? If he was introducing himself the she probably wasn't interrupting anything. As if he knew she was behind him, Zant turned. A nervous half-smile teased across Kaylie's lips, and she waggled her fingers in greeting. "Hi," she said. "I'm Kaylie." Then she ran out of words.

{Imagine Knowing Me}
Personality: At times Linz can be completely random. Checkers, anyone? She is very outgoing and not afraid to walk up to a stranger and say something funny. She loves inside jokes, especially when she's one of the insiders, and will play the same game till everyone else is bored silly. Her bravado is matched by her amazing singing voice, and Lindsey plans to be America's next great singer. If only she can get through college. Very apt to proclaim love to anyone, and very in touch with the physical. Everything that a person does holds meaning for Lindsey, especially if they touch her. She will gladly come up to you and throw her arms around you, that funny little smile on her face. Lindsey loves candles, she's a bit of a pyromaniac, but she also loves sitting in complete darkness.
Her favorite genre of music is pop/rock, she will spend hours playing guitar and singing her favorite songs. She hates bossy people and especially boring college professors. Loves playing guitar hero and DDR, sleeping in and not having to clean her room! Woot! She can be very messy at times. Another of her favorite hobbies is practical jokes. Thus her favorite holidays are April Fool's and Hallowe'en. Prank calls are one of her best attributes, at least as far as stringing people along goes. Lindsey loves gossip like...like bees like honey, like...basically she lives off it. She could very well end up being a gossip girl just because, as well has having a mouth that goes a hundred miles an hour, she has very keen ears. And the walls at Hastings are paper-thin.
Any Secrets?: was raped by her uncle her freshman year of high school
Physical Appearance: : Lindsey's hair is a little longer than shoulder length, layered, and bright orange. But then that could change any day. She is rather experimental with her hair, it is one of her weaknesses, so don't be surprised if it's a different colour tomorrow. Her eyes are a hazel-green but you can't really tell under all the makeup that she wears. She is definitely an artist, freestyle at that. About five-foot-five and a hundred pounds. Okay so maybe 105...the freshman fifteen is beginning to strike. Though she eats so little it's a wonder she can even live off it. Mostly she wears those T-shirts with the funny saying on them, and some sort of jeans or sweats. She doesn't wear earrings, in fact she doesn't even have her ears pierced. But she wears a lot of bracelets and the occasional necklace, if she sees something she's in love with.
Biography: : Lindsey was born in a suburb of Chicago in 1989. She is the youngest of three siblings, and she learned very quick that you have to push to get what you want in life. From the time she was in diapers she would run around singing, and when she was four she would stand at the street corner and sing. People were amazed at the voice coming out of this tiny kid and they would pay just to listen to the little pipsqueak. Her oldest sister, who was eleven when she was born, was sort of jealous of the attention her youngest sister was getting. She had a good voice too, but she was shy, and no one really ever heard her singing. She would pick on Lindsey for no particular reason, and the little girl quickly learned to fight back--but since she was so much smaller than her sister she fought with words. Spreading vicious rumours about her sister. It was so much fun that it became a habit for Lindsey, ever since she has loved gossip.
She is also a jokester. Once she actually put cool-aid in the showerhead on April Fool's Day, her dad was purple for almost a week. You'd think she'd get in trouble pulling pranks like that, but her parents were never actually able to pin it on her. It could have been any of the kids. Lindsey always seemed to have an alibi, too. Since she was the youngest it was even easier for her to get out of being punished. "She could get away with murder," her sister grumbled once. Maybe it was true, maybe not. Lindsey wasn't apt to try and find out. During middle school she claims to have done some vandalism, but she never got in trouble for it. She just seemed to have a way of slipping out of the noose. But of course it didn't always work. Especially with more serious things. Maybe she couldn't have gotten away with murder after all. But she sure pulled her fair share of pranks as a kid.
When she was in middle school her uncle started hanging around with her a lot. He was her dad's younger brother by almost ten years, in his early thirties when she turned thirteen. She didn't mind it, but then he started making her do stuff. Innocuous things at first. But he threatened to break her arm if she told anyone. Things escalated at a high rate, and during her freshman year she was raped four times. That summer, he got fired from his job and moved away to live with his parents again. Lindsey was never so glad to see anyone leave, but she never told anyone that her uncle was a child molester. Since then she has been kind of paranoid of older men, but she doesn't seem to have any trouble with guys her age. Lindsey thought she had escaped that horror. But when she went to get her college medical exam she found out she had a one-in-a-million chance to ever get pregnant. She was that messed up inside. But she still didn't tell anyone about her uncle. Funny isn't it, how easy it was to stop the gossip?
That was a year ago, a lot has changed since then. She graduated high school and got a job, but she hasn't seriously dated anyone in a while. She is just slightly paranoid, despite her somewhat unprecedented bounce-back. Can you really blame her? Actually I would feel more sorry for the guy who decided to break Linz's heart. She can be a real bitch sometimes. This time I don't think she'd be afraid to talk about it... Her parents were only too glad to get their last child out of the house, they sent her to a college in Connecticut and thought that was the end of it. Of course she wants to major in music and is thinking of taking a minor in French since she had three years of it in high school. Freshman year holds so many surprises, and at a school like this one it's all the more true. What will Lindsey discover at Hastings?

RP Sample:Kaylie suffocated a sigh as she perched upon a slab of basalt, cupping her chin in her hands. Sable eyes stared out at the sunset without really seeing anything. Thoughts were turned to the tumult of emotions rushing through the teenager's brain. If eyes are the windows to the soul, then Kalianna's eyes revealed a heart full of pain and confusion. She missed her father, wished she were back home, hoped for a new friend, prayed that people would leave her alone, wanted it all to just go away. But life wasn't like that.
Life meant that a black-and-white dog bounded past her on the beach, barking. His owner came jogging up after him, panting. Asked if she'd seen the dog. "He went over that way," she offered. He took off again. Curiosity piqued, the brunette clambered down off the rock and followed the pair, bare feet stepping cautiously on the lavastone. Her thoughts bounced around like pinballs as she picked her way across the beach. Who was that guy? He'd given her a name--Zant? What was he doing here? Whatever had happened to that girl she'd seen earlier? There! Keen eyes saw the girl standing with the dalmatian further up the beach. Her blonde hair was glowing in the sunset. She looked so pretty.
Kalianna reached the part of the beach where volcanic rock gave way to sand and limped onto it greatfully. Her feet were not yet accustomed to the sharp basalt. An asinine smiled curved her features as she remembered how tough her feet used to get during the summer. Those were the days, she thought. We were all so easy to please then. Kaylie was hit by a sudden pang of lonliness, though she didn't know why. Maybe it was that she'd had to leave all her friends behind, maybe it was moving her senior year. She'd had a birthday a few weeks ago, but had she had a party? Of course not. Just dinner with her family and a small package from her aunt. What a way to celebrate.
The guy had finally caught up with his dog now, Kaylie could hear him apologising to the other girl as she approached, though she couldn't understand what he was saying. Maybe it was just as well, for all she knew she could be interrupting a meeting. The thought made her slow her pace, but she'd gotten close enough to hear his last two words. "I'm...Zant"
