September 14th Approximatly 3 pm [/u][/center] Her skateboard in one hand, her iPod in the other, Crissy was living the life. All she needed to survive were these two things... and maybe some water.... But that wasn't anything to worry about. Today, was a chillaxs kinda day. One of Crissy's favorites. The sun was high in the sky, the weather was just perfect for a nice skate around town.
With Chiodos playing loudly from Crissy's iPod into her ears, she threw her skateboard down and jumped on it. Her orange Osiris gripped nicely to the bright pink grip tape on the top of her deck. Her tight orange undrarmour shirt, both showed off her curves and matched her shoes exactly, along with the orange sunglasses perched on the bridge of her nose. Her legs were covered by her favorite pair of baggy faded blue jeans. They happened to belong to her brother, Craig, when he was in highschool. Crissy remembered stealing them from him before they left for Hastings.
With no destination in mind, Crissy skated down the street, swerving in and out people and obstacles, ocationally ollying onto a bench and 50-50 on the tops of them. The wind blew her long golden hair behind her. She didn't bother fixing it today, so it was in a messy ponytail with an orange headband keeping the little pieces in check.
She chuckled softly as some guys whistled as she sped past. She was one of the boys and always found it funny when guys whistled at her. Yes, she was attracted to males. Yes, she loved to flirt. But she just did it when the time was right or she fancied the guy. And that wasn't when she was skating down the street.

One boy not current wolf whistling at the skateboarding babe was Ethan Bonner. Currently the young man was not aware of girl skating down the sidewalk but was enthralled with a couple who thought they were in a private place. In fact that couple was sitting on a bench on the sidewalk and Ethan was having a heyday trying to sketch them. It was one of his relaxation techniques, going to a random people filled place and sketching different things.
Cigarette balanced in his lips and pencil behind ear, Ethan shifted where he was sitting on his own bench to get a better view. He vaguely hoped he wasn't too obvious. It didn't really matter to him, what would they do? Sue him for drawing in a public place? If it came to that the couple of his concentration could get arrested for their rather interesting intertwined PDA.
Suddenly the charcoal in his hand dropped and without thinking Ethan reached out. It was by dumb luck that a certain skateboard missed his hand.

Glidding threw the crowds, Crissy chuckled softly. She enjoyed watching people. Especially when they gave her funny looks as she sped past them. Her eyes skid to a hault as they caught sight of two very intertwined people. Finally catching her sences she realized she was about to hit a guy on a bench. She skid out of the way, narrowly missing his long, soft fingers. She shifted to quickly and hit a rock wrong. Her board stopped and she flew forward, barely catching herself as she leaned against a tree.
She laughed casually. Everything seemed to move so quickly, she figured she looked like a masive orange blur. She spun around quickly, looking for her board. Her eyes caught sight of the bright pink grip tape. She shook her head, still laughing, and ran over to the bench it was under. She smiled cutely at the boy that she had almost hit. "I am so sorry." She muttered softly. "I was distracted and I'm really sorry." She giggled nervously.

Ethan had pulled his hand back very quickly when he realized there was a board flying towards him. He knew better than just to reach out distracted, he had to be more aware of his environment since his hearing was 100%. Still, there were times he forgot. He watched as the owner of the board, a colorful orange blur, shifted directions and almost flew into a tree. After the boarder came to a stop Ethan realized it was none other than Crissy Reed. "Wonderful. Make a fool of yourself in front of a girl." His mutter was low as he laid the charcoal against his paper and sighed.
He found and offered up a smile as she walked over towards him, hoping that when she realized it was him, if she did that is, that is wouldn't be as painfully embarassing. It took him a moment to realize she was talking and when he caught sight of her lips all he read was "distracted and I'm really sorry."
Now there was a dilemma. Possibly be seen as an ass and ask her to repeat an obvious apology, or pretend he knew what she said and hopefully get clues if they continued to talk. Or Ethan really could be an ass and ignore her. He decided to bite the bullet and suck it up. "Hey Crissy." Ethan looked up at her, hoping and praying she would remember who he was and he wouldn't look more like an idiot. "It's alright. I was distracted too, I was sketching that couple and wasn't paying attention to anything else." His voice was always slightly heavy and kind of odd to listen too, it came with being partially deaf for the majority of his life.

Crissy grabbed her board quickly and held it under her right arm. She caught a glimpse of the boys striking blue eyes and immediately knew who it was. Ethan Bonner. The cutest boy she had had the pleasure of laying eyes on. Once she realized who it was she turned her head slightly so he could see her lips. She grinned cutely and repeated herself, "I said I was so sorry. I got distracted." She chuckled softly. She spoke just slow enough for him to catch her words.
She sat down next to him and placed her board under her feet. The bright pink wheels slid back and forth casually with her feet. She tilted her head towards him and licked her lips, "Yeah, that couple seems to catch a lot of attention." She leaned over to look at his drawing. "That is excellent!"
She grinned and reached for her pack of cigarettes. The cigarette dangling from his lips was making her crave one. She lit one and took a quick drag. The sweet taste filling her mouth. She exhaled smoothly, a smirk portrayed on her gorgeous facade. "So, how is everything going for you?"

There was a wave of relief that dashed through Ethan when Crissy repeated her words voluntarily. She remembered and didn't mind talking slower for him. He smiled shyly as she grabbed his sketchpad and looked at his picture. He was always nervous about people seeing his work, a internal forboding about criticism and the like. Her most likely unconcious and unintentional praise had him almost beaming at her. It was always a shock to Ethan when people liked his work.
He watched as she lit her cigarette and took a puff. There was something relaxing about smoking with company. An ease and mutual comfort. Probably mental, but there all the same. Ethan tapped the ash off of his cig as he answered Crissy, "Everything is pretty good. A little boring with it being the beginning of the year and all." He took another drag and turned his head towards her in preparation for her speaking, "How about you? Any good parties lately?"

Crissy grinned cutely and handed him his sketch pad back. He was such an excellent artist. She had a hope that he would draw her some day but figured that it wouldn't ever happen. She grinned sweetly, watching him tap his cigarette. She loved smoking with others. She didn't feel so out of place when she was with Ethan. It was very soothing and relaxing.
She turned toward him and giggled softly, "Yeah, the first of the year always sucks." She let her legs slide from side to side on her deck. She was quite comfortable at the moment. She leaned against the back of the bench and adjusted her sunglasses. She turned her head and grinned, "Parties? All the time. Well, actually, not exactly. Craig is all wrapped up in Sofia Davis and hasn't been partying as much. I think it's cute actually." She laughed again.

The name she stated almost made Ethan laugh. Almost, but then he caught himself. He and Sofia Davis were good friends, close enough that they would spend weekend mornings together playing with his golden retriever puppy. He and Sofia even had a short ill-fated fling a year ago. "Sofia, really?" He smiled warmly at Crissy as he thought about her twin brother and his ex-girlfriend. It was an easy fit, both easy going with a good sense of humor. "She stays at the apartment across from yours a lot, eh?"
He closed the sketch book carefully and tried to keep the urges to pull his pencil from behind his ear and draw Crissy under control. There was a natural grace to her as she sat smoking and messing with her board. "We should fix that, I mean, we have been in school for two and a half weeks and there have been no infamous Reed parties? I have been able to sleep through all the silent nights and Danny has nothing to bark at." His chuckle softened as his mouth closed around his cigarette for another drag.

Crissy chuckled softly. "Yeah, Sofia. I'm pretty sure she hangs out at that one kids place across from mine." She smirked cutely as her voice rang with sarcasm. She couldn't help but smile back at Ethan. He just had this amazing aura about him. It just drew you in. She laughed softly, her bright white teeth shined in the sun.
She took another drag from her cigarette and flicked it casually over the edge of the bench. The ash floated softly to the ground. She licked her lips and giggled softly. She couldn't help but think about her parties last year, and all the complaints. It was definitely an amazing year. "Haha! Yeah, we do need to change that. You should come party with me later. We could have a killer time." She nudged him playfully. "Oh shush. Atleast you did get two weeks of silent sleeping. That's all about to change though." She gave him a sly smile. Her mind was racing over all the cool details of her next party.
"Hey, you want to go get something to eat or something? Get off of this crazy street?" She smirked and stood up, raising the nose of her board so she wouldn't move go anywere. She took another drag of her cigarette and exhaled slowly, allowing the smoke to float up from her face. She looked at Ethan and chuckled sweetly.

His smile came from his eyes at Crissy's casual dismissal of Sofia. There was something there, Ethan could tell, something unsettled and almost displeased. It was interesting. Finishing his cigarette he stubbed out the flaring end and flicked the butt into a trash can that was so pleasently located next to the bench. His throat was still slightly raw from all the talking and that final edge that comes from smoking. Instead of answering herhe moved his hands in a fashion that was obviously second nature.
'I am thankful for these past two weeks. I know there will be little night time sleep for the remainder of the semester. Before continuing on with his thoughts he realized that he was actually speaking to someone who probably did not speak ASL. His hands stopped moving in mid air and an obvious blush covered his cheeks. "Uh, I..." His hands danced awkwardly in his lap before a moment. "Well..." These situations were always hard for Ethan to handle, "What I meant was I am thankful for the two weeks of good sleep. I guess I will just have to readjust to sleeping in the day when I can so I am not exhausted." His eyes didn't quite reach Crissy's then, but focused on her mouth as the embarassment was rushing through his head and making it harder to hear than normal.
Ethan was glad the question she asked was one he could answer rather easily. "There is a great hamburger joint down the street. It is probably a lot safter than this street."

Crissy watched him intently. Her eyes flicking immediately to his hands. She chewed on her lower lip softly. She felt like an idiot because she had no idea on how to read sign language. She made a mental note to learn the basics when she could. She could tell he was embarassed and she chuckled softly. He was so cute. She blushed softly as he played with his hands in his lap.
"It's fine. Don't worry about it. I'll learn sign language soon so it'll be easier for us both. Alright?" She smiled sweetly and grabbed his hand in a friendly manner. She knew that it must be hard for him to talk to her instead of sighing. She grinned cutely at him and nodded, "The burger joint here we come!" She smirked and grabbed her deck from under her feet.

Ethan's hand burned lightly where Crissy held it in her own hands. It was weird. Ethan was not a forever guy. He was a "feels good now" kind of guy. He wasn't the player like the rumored conquests of Ian Roberts, but the only serious dating he had done was with Sofia. Having the crush on Crissy was an interesting roller coaster ride. "I could teach you. I am pretty fluent." His voice was as light and joking as he could make it as he offered a tentative smile. Slowly he took his hand back and made slow movements with his hands. They were simple basic movements. "It means 'How are you?'"
In all honesty, Ethan was amazed someone would offer to learn sign language. That was the same as asking someone to learn Russian for him. Sometimes learning Russian would seem easier. He hated the feeling that rose of, the feeling of obligation and pain that came with having to talk with his hands at times. He slid his sketch book into his bag and slung that over his shoulder. He figured the best way for them both to be comfortable with the situation would be to sign while he talked, like his brothers did for him when they were teaching Ethan to talk. "Come on, the place is called Afternoon Delight."

Crissy chuckled as she watched him sign. This was going to harder than she thought, that was for sure. She was persistent and she was going to give up though. "I would really like you to teach me. That would be fun. I can teach you to skateboard as payment, yeah?" She grinned girlishly. Her eyes stayed on his hands as her ears listened intently to what he was saying. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world, but she would manage.
She held her deck tightly in her right hand as he put his sketch pad away. She fiddled with the wheels, spinning them and what not, absent-mindedly. Her mind was raising and she didn't know why. She was a bit fidgety as well, like she was nervous. That totally threw her off because, Crissy was never nervous around guys. She nodded her head slowly as her hands attempted to mimic his, "Afternoon Delight. Alright." She smiled up at him, her gorgeous blue eyes meeting his intense ones.

Ethan's intense eyes brightened significantly at her offer. He had always wanted to learn to skateboard for some reason, it was just one of those things that struck his intrest and never let go. "That sounds great Crissy." He paused and thought for a moment. "We need a sign for your name."
They started to walk along the street towards the burger joint. Ethan knew the name was a little weird and borderline raunchy, but the place had wonderful food. He had been shocked the first time his older brother Tony had brought him to the place, the name made it hard to guess what was inside. "So when is the next big party Miss Criss?"

Crissy smiled crookedly. She never thought about a sign for her name... then again, she had never really thought about signing before. Nonetheless, it would be cool to have one. She laughed softly and looked at him, "If I need a sign for my name, you need a board for your lessons." She wrinkled her nose softly.
As they headed for the burger joint, Crissy's deck rocked back and forth with her arm slowly. She held on tightly to her trucks and swung the deck casually. "The next party? Ah hell, I have no idea... I think Ian is throwing one for Halloween... so It'll either be right before it, or right after... I'm hoping before, because Ian throws wilder parties than I do." She laughed happily.
