[[September 18th]]
It certainly was no big fancy store, chock full of designers. But, that didn't stop the Hastings Freshman from venturing to Newton's Outfitters to look for a new outfit or two. Unlike some people she knew that would remain nameless, she wasn't afraid to invest in some cheaper clothes. Especially when she didn't feel like driving all the way to Hartford. She would have to make that drive eventually, she couldn't survive on this forever. She did love her big labels. They were just a part of who she was. Hey, it wasn't her fault she was rich.
Earlier that day, she had to admit, she'd tried to pick clothes that weren't her best to wear here. She didn't want to seem out of place in this small town store. She may have gotten strange glances had she worn a few hundred dollars worth of clothing. Keeping a low profile was just that way she liked it. No sticking out for her. At least, not yet.
As she entered the shop, she clutched her jacket closer to her body, feeling a sudden rush of cold air. Someone had the air conditioning on. Why, she wasn't sure, since it was now Fall. Her bright eyes scanned the inside of the building for the first time. It was a rather nice sized room, not too small or overly large. Her attention immediatly caught the Junior's section and she headed over.
Melissa couldn't help but notice that it was quiet in here. It was quiet almost anywhere she went in this town. She was just so unused to it, she supposed she noticed it more than others. New York was always loud and busy. It was nice to be in a place that could take it slow most of the time. She felt as if she could catch her breath here.
Looking through the racks, a few pieces of clothing caught her attention, and every now and then she would hold something up, slinking it over her arm to try on later. The selection wasn't too bad here. She kind of liked it.
