Personality:
Melissa is generally a cheerful person. She loves to smile and will do anything she can to stay in a good mood. Though she is sort of quiet before she gets to know you She can be rather hyper, especially if she drinks too much soda in one day. Some will find her on the slightly crazy side if this happens. If she sees someone she loves in a bad, Mel will generally try her best to make them feel better. When people she loves are sad, it makes her sad too. She rarely gets angry, but when she does, it can be surprising just how angry. She can often be found humming a tune under her breath, or bouncing around. Most of the time she doesn't even notice it.
When Melissa does get to know someone, she is loyal to a fault. She believes friends and family are the most important thing in the world. She doesn't hate many people, because it is almost impossible for her to hold a grudge. She's got one of those horribly forgiving personalities. Which can be a downside. It opens her up to getting hurt very easily.
Academically, she's pretty good. Her forte is definately English. Since she wants to be a journalist, she's very good at writing. She has her own perky way of going about an article, something teachers always seem to love. Her one weakness in this area is math. For some reason, she can never get a hold of it. She usually seems to get a good enough grade to pass the class, but don't ask her to do any sort of division in her head. You may be waiting a while.
Any Secrets?: She watched her mother die.
Physical Appearance:
Melissa is not overly tall, standing at roughly 5'5". She has always been on the skinny side despite that fact that she loves to eat. She would guess her weight to be about 115 pounds. She could be described as lanky, but that doesn't mean that she has no muscles. She does enjoy doing the occasional athletic activity every now and then. Her complexion is pale, never seeming to get tan no matter how hard she tries. She figures it's a blessing and a curse. Her eyes are an astonishingly bright blue which compliment her dark brown hair.
As for style, she's very simple in the way she dresses. She likes to be very "cute". She will wear jeans and a couple cute tops, but she also likes to be girly and wear dresses and skirts every once in a while. She loves to wear designer clothes when she can, but she does have quite a few inexpensive clothes as well. She doesn't judge a piece of clothing on how much it costs.
Biography:
She was born Melissa Rose Jameson to two very wealthy parents. Her mother, Rose was a fashion designer starting to get to the peak of her career. Her father, Marcus, owned a commerical business that was located in the heart of Manhattan. The second of two children, Melissa never seemed to lose on anything. She was treated almost like a princess, with all the expensive gifts she could dream of at Christmas, and all the lessons she ever wanted to try. When she was old enough, Melissa achieved her education in the best of schools. Her parents didn't believe in sending either of their children to public school.
When Melissa was just nine years old, she witnessed her mother die. In fact, she came very close to death herself. Rose was driving her back from a ballet recital when the accident happened. Both females had been in a good mood as Melissa's solo had gone quite well. Rose didn't even have time to swerve as the car came out of nowhere. A drunk driver slammed right into the driver's side of the car, killing Rose instantly. Melissa was a lot luckier. She came out of the accident with a fractured arm, a few cracked ribs, and a lot of cuts and bruises. The driver who had hit them was barely scratched, but was sent to a life sentence in jail. Melissa always thought it was an unfair trade. She would much rather have that man dead than her mother. The image of her mother's open and lifeless eyes still haunts her to this day.
After the crash, Marcus was never quite the same. Melissa could see it in his eyes everyday. He was slower in the things that he did, and far less passionate. The young girl always felt bad for her father. It wasn't fair that Rose had been taken from him, either. As the years went by, the family slowly began to recover from the loss, and normal life wasn't so hard. However, the subject is still a sore one for all members of this small family.
Despite her loss, Melissa still excelled at most of her schoolwork, and was able to stay in the prestigious schools that led to her University choice. No, she did not choose Hastings because her older brother attended it. She chose it because it was a new start. She could live in a small town for once. She figured having a change of scenery would be good.
Manhattan was Melissa's home for most of her life. There had never been a reason to leave, since her father's business was right there. She had gotten to know the area like the back of her hand. So, when she got into Hastings, it was a huge change. Everything that was familiar was suddenly gone. And as she starts her first school year at the elite University, she wonders just how different things will really be.

(I'll go ahead and do this to show you guys what kind of length I'm looking for! XD This is from another RP that I'm currently in.)
Boring would be a way to describe this day. No class, no homework, and nothing to do. Boring pretty much summed it up. The seventh year was eager to find something to do. Anything, really. Well, almost anything. A few things came to mind that the boy was less-than-willing to do. However, going outside seemed like a safe bet, no?
Pulling his extremely lazy self out of bed rather late, Matthew stumbled around his currntly empty dorm to find some clothes and do something with himself. He pulled on a pair of faded jeans, a dark blue tee-shirt, and a light blue button up shirt. After a few minutes of searching for his soes, he donned them and a nice black leather coat. Shoving his hands deep into the pockets, the boy finally set off down the hallways.
Stifling a yawn, the Estremo tried to drudge up the memory of anything that needed to be done. It seemed these were the lazy days of the school. No one was in mortal peril, the drama was at a fair minimum, and classes were going smoothly. At least classes were going smoothly for him. Matt had never really had problems in the academic area. Something he could pride himself in, at least.
Opening the door to the outside, Matt squinted his eyes to the bright sun. As they adjusted to the light, he walked down the steps and meandered down the grounds, no real destination in mind. The boy just happened to find himself down by the lake. He hadn't been there in a while, and figured that it would do him some good to hang around it. Maybe if he was lucky he could see some not-so-gifted ice skaters. That would be interesting.
However, as he neared the lake, he noticed a familiar face. Miss Madison Miller was currently reading. It was probably some intelectually challenging book, knowing her. The boy couldn't help a small smile that crept onto his face. Yes, by now he had gotten over the horrible pain of loosing her. He was finally slipping back into his life. He was able to look at her now and not be overcome with emotions that would lead him to be miserable for the rest of the day.
He knew now was as good a time as any to approach her. He didn't want her thinking that he never wanted to talk to her again. He had a feeling that that thought was present in her mind. Now that he was better, he wanted a shot at being friends. After all, they never really did have much of a chance of being friends before they stared dating.
Taking a deep breath, Mister Sturleson made his way over to Madison. "Hey." he said, not really knowing anything else to say. He would wait to see if her reaction to him would be positive or negative. Hopefully it would be the former. What he wouldn't give for things to be normal between them.
(Okay, it doesn't have to be that long. But, that is a length that I really like!)
